Michael “Magic-Mike” Raymer discovered his love for magic at just six years old after being invited onstage to help a magician during a live show. From that moment, he was hooked. He grew up racing home from school to watch Presto the Magic Clown on WDRB—where William Dopp showcased the classic wonders of magic—and by age eight Mike proudly opened his first magic set and began performing for family and friends.
At thirteen, he booked his first paid show, launching a lifelong career.
After high school, Mike began performing for organizations, churches, and schools throughout Louisville, KY. His magic has since carried him across the United States and internationally to Canada, Italy, and Guatemala.
A dedicated student of the art, Mike has trained with some of the world’s leading professional magicians. He is a Life Member of both the International Brotherhood of Magicians (IBM) and the Society of American Magicians (SAM), as well as a longtime member of the Louisville Magic Club.
Mike served as President of the Louisville Magic Club for six years, where he has been an active member for more than 44 years.
He also spent seven years as the editor and writer of The Magic SYMbol, the international magazine for the Society of Young Magicians, and served as a Regional Vice President for the Society of American Magicians representing Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee.
In July 2025, Mike was elected Second Vice President of the Society of American Magicians.
Outside the magic world, Mike has served as a
teacher,
youth minister, and
college professor, teaching business and marketing—all roles where his passion for inspiring and connecting with young people shines just as brightly as his magic.
