Michael “Magic Mike” Raymer’s love for magic began at just six years old — the moment he was invited onstage to help a magician during a live show. The applause, the wonder, and the joy of creating amazement for others instantly captured his heart.
Growing up in Louisville, Mike would race home from school to watch Presto the Magic Clown on WDRB, where William Dopp introduced him to the classic art of magic. By age eight, Mike had opened his very first magic set and was already performing for family and friends whenever he could.
At just thirteen years old, Mike booked his first paid performance — the beginning of what would become a lifelong career in magic.
After high school, Mike began performing regularly for churches, schools, and community organizations throughout Louisville, Kentucky. Over the years, his performances have taken him across the United States and internationally to Canada, Italy, and Guatemala, sharing laughter, wonder, and unforgettable moments with audiences of all ages.
A dedicated student of the art, Mike has trained with some of the world’s leading professional magicians. He is a Life Member of both the International Brotherhood of Magicians (I.B.M.) and the Society of American Magicians (S.A.M.), and a longtime member of the Louisville Magic Club.
Mike has served as President of the Louisville Magic Club for six years and has been an active member for more than 44 years. His commitment to mentoring young magicians led him to spend seven years as editor and writer of The Magic SYMbol, the international magazine of the Society of Young Magicians. He also served as a Regional Vice President for the Society of American Magicians, representing Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee.
In July 2025, Mike was elected Second Vice President of the Society of American Magicians, one of the highest leadership roles in the world’s oldest magic organization.
Outside the magic world, Mike has spent decades working as a teacher, youth minister, and college professor. These roles sharpened the skills that parents and educators value most — communication, structure, patience, and the ability to connect meaningfully with young people.
Today, Mike Raymer blends professional-level magic with a genuine heart for inspiring wonder, confidence, and joy — creating magical experiences families, schools, and communities remember long after the final applause.
